California here we come

Well, Jeff was offered a job in California and they flew us down to Sacramento Sat-Tue to check it out. It's pretty official, we are moving !!! Jeff will probably go in May and the rest of us in June, after school is out. It was really pretty there, and not at all what I expected (I was picturing L.A., San Diego, etc.) It was so mountainous, green, and a lot of open land! We aren't sure which town we will live in for sure, but we are kind of hoping for Auburn-that is where he will be working. Auburn reminds me a lot of Idaho City meets Park City-Beautiful! We are feeling pretty good about it all. Everything seems to be falling into place and I am so grateful. Our good friends, the Barney's, are going to be able to take care of our house for a while which makes me feel a TON better about the whole thing.
Cooper was the only one that went with us and he did pretty good on the airplane-as long as we kept shoving food in his face. Here he is at the airport
and on his first airplane ride-notice the licorice all over his face

He was so sick of his car seat by the end of the trip (he's not a big car seat fan anyway), so we'll see how next week goes on the Oregon Coast...wish us luck!

Love this chick

Our little Rilynn just turned 2 1/2. She is so fun and all girl! She LOVES new clothes, fingernails being painted, new earrings, and oh boy...nothing beats a new pair of shoes! (Have I taught her good or what?) She is a great talker and talks all the time-no really, ALL THE TIME! She never shuts up. I guess it's just born in us girls huh?! She talks in full sentences and pretty much says everything like anyone else, but of course does have some of her own unique things. Some of our favorites are
instead of saying she forgot she says she "gotfor",

she only calls Cooper "Cooper Boy,"

if you ask her if she wants something she say "uh, sure,"

I make her go to the bathroom right before she goes down for a nap; so just to protect herself from that dreaded nap, anytime I take her to the bathroom after about 10:00am she tell me, "I don't want to go nap time!"

She loves her baby dolls and copies everything I do with Cooper with her dolls. Every day after I feed Cooper baby food she goes and gets her baby, tea cup, spoon, and feeds her dolly. She even cleans the baby's face off with the spoon after each bite. She burps, rocks, bounces and changes her babies diapers-she has wasted a bizzillion wipes cleaning up fake poop and pee.

The emotions have already started (I thought we had 11 years until that started). If you look at her wrong the water works can be turned on like its a switch.

Books; She will accept Mom and Dad, but if Grandma Sharon, Uncle Evan, or Aunt Jenae come in the door she will run to the book closet, pick 3-10 books, and climb up on their laps. She would read from sun up to sun down if only an adult would cooperate.

She just found her first favorite movie-actually two movies, "Lion King" and "Mama Mia"

I wanted a girl SOOOO bad and I have enjoyed every bit of it! The other day my Grandma said, "You two have such a great relationship, I can tell you will always be close." I hope she is right, that is truly my biggest dream.

I love this little chick!

Sleep Time

"Paxton, go get ready for bed!" We go upstairs and this is what we find:

Apparently both Great Grandma and Cooper were ready for a nap. Rilynn hadn't had a nap and just curled up on the chair and went to sleep.
Three bugs in a rug. The kids ready for bed in McCall (notice Rilynn trying to copy Evan's awesome peace sign)

Thankful Thursday

Last Friday our family had our little end of the world shaken, but everything was put into perspective on Sunday. There are some amazing people in our ward who just tragically lost their daughter. We went to the viewing Sunday and as our hearts broke for this family we realized that we have so much to be thankful for-even during our trials.
First-I am so thankful for faith, the gospel, prayer, and eternal families.
Second- I am so thankful for my 4 children that are all healthy (minus Cooper's current ear infection), happy, and who are currently racing to see who's fastest (poor Rilynn doesn't stand much of a chance).
Third-I am thankful for a husband who is constantly positive and keeps me smiling and laughing even though we are in a crappy spot right now
Fourth-I am thankful for family and friends who are so quick to jump in and offer help, prayer, fasting, any and everything even just phone calls of concern and comfort.
Fifth-I am thankful that I have realized that all of the things I am THE MOST thankful for are not things.
There are a ton of other things that I am thankful for, but since Rilynn is currently holding the phone, and possibly calling Japan, I better call if quits w/the top 5-this is why I usually don't blog while my children are awake.
p.s. I am also thankful for bedtime

Thank heaven for bibs

I know it looks like Rilynn fed him, and I should probably save some of my pride and blame it on her, but really it was me feeding Cooper. He finally got the eating thing down, and now eats 2 jars in a sitting. The problem with this???, he loves to spit while he eats!
The sad thing is that his second jar was applesauce so you can't even see the whole mess it made! BTW can you see the yelling he is doing for not getting the food in faster?
Yah, we won't be using these bibs more than once between washings!

Super Cooper is 7 months

Super Cooper (Paxton's name for him) is now 7 months here is a glimpse into his life.
1. He is sitting up good, but doesn't catch himself when he starts to tip.
2. He loves to wave at people, but is easily distracted by how tricky that little hand is and then he proceeds to either eat his hand or yell at it in excitement.
3. He has discovered peek-a-boo and thinks its the greatest, next to his feet, which he also loves to play with and try to eat!
4. I shouldn't write this, I may jinx it, but the last week he has slept better. We actually moved his pack and play into our closet and he has slept good, I'm wondering if it was partly that he is a light sleeper and his dad's snoring woke him up (Jeff can sound like a fog horn sometimes).
5. He is pretty much on a two nap a day schedule and is very dependent on his binkie for those naps. Rilynn and Cooper's naps don't match up at all-he naps in the morning and late afternoon, she naps early afternoon...I guess it keeps me "unbored."
6. He tried apple juice for the first time and LOVED it. He hasn't really tried anything he hasn't liked, but he's only had veggies to eat.
7. He is a steam roller! He rolls everywhere and in no time flat. This week he just started trying to pull his legs up under him into a crawling position.
8. He loves his siblings and lights up at the very sight of them.
9. I keep thinking he's gonna change more, but he is still a miniature Paxton-it is even starting to look like his hair maybe curly.
10. He's a back archer...he does this constantly! If he wants to turn, if he's mad, if he's playing, if you try and put him into his car seat.
11. He jibbers and jabbers a lot, but only says Dada.
12. The little guy is such a cuttle bug and gives the best hugs ever. He also has the sweetest smile and will share it with anyone willing to look his way.

Booyah!

I TOTALLY SCORED! I scored on my all girls team tonight! Okay, in reality, it was just dumb luck, and the ball kinda bounced off my hip and into the goal (I've never been so thankful for big hips!). There really was no skill involved, but I'm taken the point and I'm rockin' it! Really all luck probably came from the team socks...cute right?!
